Julia H. Cohen, MD, FAADD hails from Boston, Massachusetts, she joined Bryn Mawr Skin & Cancer Institute after 20 years practicing dermatology in neighboring Havertown. A fun fact about her medical school training was it took place at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands.
We are pleased to have her as a Dermatologist at Bryn Mawr Skin & Cancer Institute, and part of the Cirillo Institute family.
Do you have any hobbies?
Reading, cooking, travel.
Favorite food?
Spicy, exotic – I love Indonesian cuisine. But French cuisine is a favorite too. I love to eat!
What sparked your interest in Dermatology?
It is endlessly fascinating, I can help young and old, both surgical and medical. People appreciate being able to see themselves get better, thus appreciating your help.
How/Why did you decide to go to medical school in the Netherlands?
I lived there as a child, and always wanted to go back. My brother studied in Belgium and thrived.
What was it like living abroad?
Wonderful. Best years of my life.
How did you get interested in Belly Dancing?
On a whim, I went to adult school classes with my friends and got hooked. Great complement to Pilates.
