What’s on the top of your list of skin care advice?
You can still do what you love in the sun, just do it responsibly. Don’t expose your skin during peak hours, wear sunblock and protective clothing.
What’s something you do to take care of your skin all the time?
Use a cream with an antioxidant in the morning, a retinoid at night, and sunblock, of course!
What excites you about your work?
The variety! I get to see a wide variety of age ranges with a wide variety of conditions, read slides under the microscope and perform surgery- often within a single day.
What do you love about Mohs Surgery?
I particularly enjoy the unpredictable rhythm of each and every day depending upon the cases I have. Some days are smooth sailing, and others are much more challenging. I also thoroughly enjoy the fact that I get a chance to really get to know my patients, we always have such interesting conversations!
Anything else you are excited about in your work?
I am also very passionate about certain infectious diseases in dermatology and currently hold ten patents worldwide. The goal is to get new drugs approved to treat very common, yet difficult to treat infections and do my part to contribute to the field.
